August Registration Packet

Watch for our registration packet mailed to your house the 1st week of August. Registration is Wednesday, August 27th from 3:00-5:45 p.m. in the gym followed by our back to school picnic, place to be announced, so come back for more information. Please call the school office (763-537-1329) this summer if you have any questions.

Concert Wish List Items

We have some last minute concert wish list items that we need either lend or donate:
• Fog machine
• 2 Nerf bows with 4 arrows(or similar)
• Puffy female wig (like Marie Antoinette, Bride of Frankenstein, B52 singer, etc.)
• One large fake candy cane
• Tin drinking cups and pitcher
• Paint sticks, popsicle sticks, or chop sticks

8th Graders Valleyfair Trip

The 8th grade will be going to Valleyfair on June 2nd. Please be sure to turn in your permission slips or your son/daughter will not b able to go.

The Spring Production is Approaching!

Our "Huckleberry Finn" performance will be presented on Thursday, May 22, at 12:45, to the school and anyone else that would like to attend, and at 6:45 that evening as well. For the evening performance, all students in band and grades 2,4, and 6 should be dressed in "Sunday Best," and the 8th graders should be dressed in their appropriate costumes, 8th graders should arrive at 6:00, band members at 6:15, and the other grades by 6:30. Here's to looking forward to another wonderful musical from the SHS students!

Zoo Assembly

On Tuesday, May 13th, we will be having a Zoo Assembly in the gym for K-8. The MN Zoomobile is presenting 5 animals of the North, 2 mammals, 1 snake, 1 bird and 1 invertebrate. We want to thank Home & School for helping us get this assembly!! To learn more about the MN Zoomobie, you can go to

Altar Server Training

If you are interested in participating in Church as an Altar Server, you are invited to attend an Altar Server Training Session on April 30th from 6:30-7:00 p.m. The session is being held for anyone in grades 4-12. Unable to attend and you still want to serve? Call the parish office or school office to let us know.

Special Person Day

We ask each family to invite a special person to visit our school. We begin the day with Mass at 9:00 a.m. Guests will meet the students in church, except for the kinders. Please have your guest pick them up in the Room 101. The church will be open at 8:30 a.m. After mass, students will take their special guest to the creativity fair, science fair, and classrooms. It will be a fun, busy morning.

Creativity Night

This event will showcase at least two pieces of work per child. All art and classroom projects will be on display in the Gym. The 7th/8th Grade projects will be on display in the lunchroom. This event will be open for Special Person Day.

School Time for Next Year

The bus company confirmed our school start time for next year.   Our school day will run from 7:30-2:00 p.m. Buses will start arriving at school at 7:20 a.m. and leave SHS at 2:05 p.m.  Bus routes will be available end of August.

Conferences

Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, April 3, from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Notices were sent home with every child the week before spring break. These conferences are optional and a teacher or parent may request to see a staff member. Please return your slip ASAP. The teachers have a scheduled dinner break 5:00-5:40 pm.

Channel 12

Watch Sacred Heart School on Ch. 12! Channel 12 came to Sacred Heart on Feb. 1 and on Feb. 6th to film the students with their spirit buddies and interview Mrs. Harty and I. You can watch the film clip at 24 minutes past the hour between 4:00-7:00 p.m., 9:00-11:00 p.m. on Feb. 13-15 and 6:00-9:00 a.m. and 11:00-1:00 p.m. Feb. 14-16. Family Dance/Silent Auction-Feb. 23

Our family dance/silent auction is right around the corner following the 5:00 p.m. mass. Our theme this year is Hawaiian Luau. The family dance is always a fun way to spend a Saturday night and we will also have "Message in a Bottle". Join us for an evening of fun and laughs. This is also a way for parents to get to know each other while children enjoy a night out with fellow classmates. The adult and children silent auction will be taking place in the Marian rooms. Please reserve your tickets now or pay at the door. See the attached flier. It is not too late to donate a basket to our auction.

Our magazine sale begins on Tuesday, February 23th with a kick off assembly explaining prizes. This is an optional fundraiser, but hope that you support this easy fundraiser. The school receives 40% of all sales. We hope that you continue to sell magazines to your previous customers. A flier will be sent home on Feb. 13th explaining prizes and the available magazines and CD's. You can also set up an account at http://www.qsp.com and order from here.

No School

There is no school on Friday, January 19th due to an Teacher Inservice, and no school on Monday, January 21st in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Family Dance/Silent Auction

The Sacred Heart Family Dance/Silent Auction will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23 beginning with mass at 5:00 p.m. Our theme this year is a Luau. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. The menu will be:
Chicken Nuggets, French Fries, Coleslaw, Ice Cream

The cost is $5.50 adults, $4,00 Students. A DJ will be present for a children’s dance and adults wear your Hawaiian shirt for our “Best” Hawaiian shirt contest. The Silent Auction will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m.  

Come join us for a fun family evening.

Our tuition contract for 2008-2009 will be sent home by January 25th. Our Finance Committee meets on January 22nd to approve the budget. New families will be able to register on Sunday, January 27th. Please tell your relatives, neighbors, and friends to take a peek at Sacred Heart School!

Catholic School's Week

The staff is preparing for Catholic Schools Week, January 27th - February 1st. Our theme this year is "Catholic Schools Light the Way".
A schedule of events will be sent home with the weekender on January 11th. Plan on visiting our Open House on Jan. 27th following the 10:00 am Mass. Visit our book fair and coffee/donuts in the gym on the same day!

Open House Coming Up!!

We are having an Open House coming up, Sunday, January 27th. It starts at 10:00 a.m. with Mass in the Church. Classrooms will open after mass, so you can take a tour of the school. We will be having coffee and doughnuts too for a little snack! Don't forget the Book Fair which helps raise money and books for the school Library!! This is also a first opportunity to register for new families!!

Christmas Concert

The concert/play is Thursday, Dec. 13th at 6:45 p.m. Grade 7 should be here at 5:45 p.m. and K, 1, 3, 5 here by 6:30 p.m. The students are meeting in the following locations- Gr. K-1 Marian rooms Gr. 3 Library Gr. 5 Computer Lab The students will watch the show at dress rehearsal that day so they will remain with their teacher during the program.
