Paying Forward

Ms. Ernste and the 5th graders entered a contest through the Catholic Spirit called "Pay It Forward". The newspaper selected groups to receive $100 to "grow" during Lent to help as many people as possible. They received 131 suggestions from teachers, children, and adults for a variety of projects. Our 5th graders were selected to buy Bandabead bracelets and necklaces from Uganda, which they would see to raise money to help the women and children in Uganda. Along with selling Bandabead necklaces and bracelets, they will spend time as a class making other bracelets, necklaces, and small crafty items with their own supplies to sell.
