AR POINTS 3rd TRI

Last Day to turn in AR points is May 30th.

Just a reminder, Accelerated Reader (AR) Points for 3rd trimester are as follows:

6th grade 20 points
7th grade 25 points
8th grade 30 points

If you would like to know where your child stands as far as AR points to this point, you may log-on through the internet.  Ask your child for their log-in and password.  The site is https://hosted119.renlearn.com/160678/

We are almost finished with The Watson's Go to Birmingham-1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis.  

 

I checked preliminary notecards today.  These should be hand written by the student.  We assessed if we needed more notes to start writing our paper this week.  We will be working on our thesis statement tomorrow and typing our rough drafts on Wednesday.  I would like this project to be done in class as much as possible.  Please call me if you have any questions.

Our next novels will be free choice.  Check with your child on his/her free choice novel.  We have started to have booktalks and AR test on finished books. Please check Power School.  Your child should be finishing his/her third or fourth book journal and AR test.  We have students who are on to their sixth and seventh books.  Remember your child needs 30 AR points for this trimester turned in by May 30th.  

 


We will be doing a quick review of prepositions.
