Many web resources are listed in this attachment. They cover spelling games, math skills, math facts, and sight words. We have tried some of these games at school to introduce them to your child. Many would provide extra practice and hopefully some fun for your child at the same time!

Our School's Theme for 2011-2012
This year's theme is based on the growth of the beautiful redwood tree. It's roots are spread out along the surface and interwined with all of the roots of other redwood trees around them. This combined suppport gives it the best chance for survival. We, as a school community, will strive to follow the redwood's example. We will stand together, encourage one another, and become strong together as we grow taller like the redwood.

Discipline with a Purpose Program
Sacred Heart School is using this program to help all students develop the 15 skills needed to have self-discipline. It has been found through research that students having these skills have the greatest chance for success in school and in life.
SHS has adopted the following three rules:
1. Respect yourself, others, and things.
2. Contribute to the learning environment.
3. Follow school and classroom rules and procedures.
Our classroom discipline plan:
Step 1: Non-verbal and verbal reminders. This is considered to be a warning.
Step 2: Reflection sheet-This asks the student to evaluate his behavior and how it has affected those around him. This sheet is given after repeated warnings, and is sent home to be signed by parents.
Step 3: Face-to-face meeting with principal and/or parent.
